The Britney Spears Meltdown.

Once a beautiful, innocent, talented singer, turned into a drug-crazed, out of control mother- within only two years. After having two children (Sean Preston and Jayden James) and suffering through a harsh divorce with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney Spears' life took a complete turn for the worse. She was constantly in and out of court fighting for custody for her two sons. Unfortunately, full custody was given to Federline. Following this, Britney began the ultimate meltdown. She was out everynight partying, drinking and doing drugs. She was in and out of rehab institutions, never completing a full treatment. Her musical performances also suffered as everyone began to ridicule and question her talent. During her drug and alcohol abuse she visited court several times for various tickets and prosecutions, and she even decided to shave off her hair. Not long ago though, she had her own reality show where she appeared to have come out of her drug induced life and began making good music once again. This is merely a general overview of the life Britney lived for the past two years - for a more indepth timeline :

Britney Spears was once a beautiful and talented singer, she was undoubtedly an idol for teenage girls everywhere. So what happened to her? Britney completely forgot who she was and lost complete control of herself and her life. She had it all and was on the road to having even more, however, wealth, fame, and popularity corrupted her "perfect" life. Other than drugs and some bad happenings, what else is to blame for her downward spiral? Fame pushed Britney to her breaking point and caused her to "lose her mind". The constant attention, paparazzi, and pressure was too much for her. To make matters worse, she had A LOT of money and not much to do with it, thus, she invested it in drugs, partying, and paying for various tickets. She is the perfect example that fame and money are dangerous. Unfortunately, society seems to be obsessed with these two things. People will do anything for money and people will do anything for a headline. Nadia Sulaiman decided to have 14 children in order to gain fame and money. This crave for popularity and wealth has gotten so out of control that people will do anything, regardless of who they use or who they hurt. Britney Spears hurt her children, however, she hurt herself even more. Her story is also a perfect example of how society craves celebrity gossip. Not one person was unaware of what was happening to Britney Spears and her crazed antics. It is almost as if we are more satisfied with ourselves when we hear of the problems celebrities are facing. It is almost disgusting to think that this is something that helps us get through our day. Society appears to have become a corrupt gathering of men and women clinging to the sadness of another just to have something to talk about or laugh at. Though I, myself, am positive that Britney Spears is just crazy, I am saddened to think that fame and money is what ruined her life. I am saddened to think that society has become more crazy than Britney Spears.
